Book Reviews

I have a very simple philosophy when it comes to reviewing books: Books don’t get grades.

What that really means is I don’t know how to assign a point system to reviewing books. Five stars? 10/10? There’s no way I can make a rubric for that. So here’s how I review books.

I liked it! (Or I didn’t like)

I think you’ll like it! (Or I think you won’t)

Then I’ll talk about the things I do or don’t like, and if it sounds like an interesting book, check it out!

Some Further Notes

As a Christian, I review from the Christian ethic and moral viewpoint.

As a lover of action, adventure and lots more, I might read and enjoy things that you don’t.

What that might mean, is that if you’re not a Christian, you might be okay with things I find questionable. And if you are a Christian, you might be more sensitive to things that I am okay reading (or being contained in books that I read).

For example, I might not praise the sections of a book that has graphic depictions of violence or sex, but I might still recommend the book for the story it tells.

I will probably write a longer post about what I mean by all that, but until then, feel free to reach out with any questions!
