Affiliate Disclosure

In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission released their new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, Youtube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company.

In simpler terms, it means that if you buy a book through one of the links in my reviews, I’ll make a small commission.

Now, a more formal statement:

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site: Any/all of the links ScribeOfWorlds.com are affiliate links of which I receive a small compensation from sales of certain items.

What are affiliate links?

Purchases are made on external affiliate company websites: When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on a website to purchase an item, the reader buys the item from the seller directly (not from me). The companies you buy from pay this website a small commission, or other compensation, for promoting their website or products through their affiliate program.

Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.

I am currently using two primary affiliate programs:

Alibris Affiliate Links

ScribeOfWorlds.com is a participant in the Alibris Affiliate program through Rakuten Advertising. Alibris is a great place for buying used or secondhand books, and where I source most of my books, if I am able.

If you click through an Alibris link on ScribeOfWorlds, anything you purchase within 10 days will earn ScribeOfWorlds a small commission. This will not be at any extra cost to you.

If you see any link including alibris, rakuten, linksynergy, etc, it can be assumed to be an affiliate link.

Interested in Alibris? Check it out!  (This is an affiliate link)

Amazon

ScribeOfWorlds.com is a participant in the Amazon Associates program. This means that I make commissions off of qualifying purchases.

If you click through an Amazon Link on ScribeOfWorlds, anything you purchase from that link in 24 hours will earn the site a small comission. Like before, it will not be any extra cost to you.

If you see any link including Amazon, amzn, etc, it can be assumed to be an affiliate link.

What about sponsored content?

At the time of this writing, I do not write sponsored posts. However, if a post is sponsored by a company, or if a book was given to me in trade for a fair review, or is in any other way a paid sponsorship, I will disclose this clearly in the beginning of the post.
